Erasmus+ “Picture on the Wall” project

Name of the project: Picture on the Wall

Date of the event: August 22-27, 2022 (6 nights – 6 days)

Location: Shanliurfa, Turkey

Partner countries: Italy, Ukraine, Germany and Turkey

Participants: 6 participants from each organization

Project objective

This project aims to bring together about 30 youth workers/youth leaders or young people from different countries to raise awareness of the social, cultural and intellectual life of people living in refugee camps.

Project goals:

  • To develop participants’ understanding and knowledge of the concept of youth rights, familiarity with international charters and European policy documents on youth rights;
  • Підвищити рівень знань і обізнаності в таких темах, як: Права людини (цінності, принципи, приклади дослідження), освіта з прав людини (методи та результати), соціальне відчуження, міжкультурний діалог, толерантність;
  • Develop a proactive attitude to human right
  • Develop practical skills in informal education, including human rights education methods;
  • To enable participants to act as multipliers of human rights education for the benefit of young people affected by human rights violations;
  • To familiarize the participants with current mechanisms and tools to support young people in overcoming their disadvantaged position;
  • Establish a long-term partnership between participants and their associations.

Participants’ profile

Young people who:

  • are interested in human rights, active citizenship and democracy
  • has experience working with young people
  • are between 18 and 25 years old
  • have a minimum intermediate level of English
  • are disadvantaged geographically, economically, socially and culturally (priority)
  • are active and highly motivated for project activities
  • can commit to staying for the whole project

Methodology and methods

The project methodologies and methods will be based on informal education. Informal learning methods to be used during the project activities: group work, discussions, statement exercises, lectures, modeling, individual and group reflections, interactive seminars, and joint presentations, consultations, exercises and self-assessment, etc.
