Erasmus+ Youth “Strengthen Cross-Cultural Connections, Embrace the Differences”

Thanks to the established cooperation with The Istanbul Foundation for Science and Culture in the period from 17 to 24 September 2017, 5 university students were able to take part in an educational trip to Turkey in order to gain knowledge about the education and culture of the country within the framework of the project “Strengthen Cross-Cultural Connections, Embrace the Differences”

The goal of the project was to strengthen intercultural ties.

The project was attended by students from Ukraine, Moldova, Turkey. Refugee students from Syria were also additionally invited. Everyday, social and political topics were discussed.

This project brought together representatives of different nationalities, including Ukrainians, Turks, Syrians, Moldovans, Brazilians, Bangladeshis, etc. Leading educational institutions and various foundations and foundations from different countries were covered: Pereyaslav-Khmelnitsky H.Skovoroda State Pedagogical University, Ostroh Academy National University, Istanbul University, Agricultural State University of Moldova, Istanbul Foundation for Science and Culture, Syrian Civil Society Organization.

During the discussion, the issues of cultural stereotypes about the Arab world in the international media, the peculiarities of religious traditions of different nations and the possibility of dialogue and peaceful coexistence, the search for topics that would contribute to the implementation of joint educational projects, reducing the conflict of regions, minimizing aggression during interethnic, religious, political and international conflicts were actualized.

After the completion of the project, a conference was held on October 4 at the Pereyaslav-Khmelnitsky H.Skovoroda State Pedagogical University, where its results were made public. The participants of the meeting discussed the problems of war, terrorism and ethnic conflicts that cause mass migration around the world.
