At the beginning of 2019, teachers and students of the university had the opportunity to join the Erasmus + project “Tracing Cultural Heritage”, which involves the exchange of cultural heritage between different nations, the formation of multicultural competence among modern youth, respect for the history of both their own people and neighboring states. The project was supported by the Turkish Ensar Vakfi Foundation, the Center for Intercultural Communication and our university itself. Ukrainian participants studied new artistic types and technologies of traditional Turkish art, students received internships in Arabic calligraphy, thesis and ebra. At the same time, the delegation from Ukraine presented the traditional Pysankarstvo for the Ukrainian people, invited colleagues from Turkey to practice working with paper plastics and decoupage.
The project ended with a joint exhibition of art works by the delegations of Ukraine and Turkey. The event was attended and delivered by the Consul of the Consulate General of Ukraine in Istanbul Pasynchuk Kateryna Anatoliivna. The Ukrainian delegation was also supported by the long-standing partners of our university – the Istanbul Foundation for Science and Culture, in particular, its representative Ilham Miraj.
