Ukrainian-Czech cooperation

Involvement in the international project « Progressive Management of  University » (the Czech Republic)

The main goal is improving development of higher education in Ukraine with the help of studying representatives of universities; who take part in spheres ,which are important for effective manage higher education and internationalization. The project is carried out in cooperation with the Union of Rectors of Ukraine and American Councils for International Education.

The internship program included training, lectures and practical seminars, which are devoted for the study of higher education system of the Czech Republic and providing equal access to it. The first base of training module became the faculty of pedagogy of the Masaryk University. The one has more than 5,000 students, who learn content and methods of teaching school subjects.

The design techniques of teaching are dominated on all of departments of faculties. Students study no more than 3 large courses for a term. The next module of the project was carried out on natural faculty. It consists departments of math, physics, chemistry, biochemistry, anthropology, geology and geography. The faculty is located in 4 modern academic buildings, which create the one educational and scientific space (it trains more than 5,000 students). The leading technique of teaching is laboratory research within realization of science projects.

The project is aimed at internationalization of education. Internship was in Masaryk University (Brno, the Czech Republic). Project are carried out by cooperation the Development fund of Czech Republic with the Union of Rectors of Ukraine, the department of social pedagogy of Masaryk University; Association for international Affairs (AMO) and team of 20 Ukrainian universities.

Project “Changes of pedagogical faculties and universities in the 21st century”

 The project is implemented by Masaryk University with the support of the Czech Development Agency in the period from May 2019 to December 2021.

Project “Changes of pedagogical faculties and universities in the 21st century” is focused on strengthening the abilities of middle management and teachers of Ukrainian universities that train future teachers.

During 2019 – 2021, 5 intensive week-long trainings from Tomas Masaryk University (Brno) took place.

In 2021, a conference of doctoral students (postgraduates) was held, in which Ukrainian and Czech doctoral students (postgraduates) will take part. The conference also included an educational program,which is aimed at introducing opportunities for young scientists.

Types of work:

  • active participation of university representatives in 5 educational trips to the Czech Republic (certain activities were transferred online due to the COVID-19 pandemic)
  • holding seminars/workshops for colleagues at the university on topics that will be discussed in the Czech Republic earlier
  • participation in the doctoral (postgraduate) conference
  • participation in an electronic interview, which was carried out in order to collect data necessary for the project evaluation.

The scientific and pedagogical staff of the university, who were involved in the training within the project (NEWS, PROGRAM 1, PROGRAM 2), conducted a series of training sessions and seminars for the teaching staff and students of the university and partner educational institutions. Also, materials are freely available for viewing and use in the work of all interested persons at the LINK.

Cooperation with Masaryk University

 The inter-institutional agreement 2016-2018 between Garik Masaryk University and Hryhoriy Skovoroda University in Pereyaslav was signed, the purpose of which was to ensure the academic mobility of students and administrative staff of the university under the EU Erasmus+.

The Faculty of Pedagogy makes a significant part in the international activities of the University, in particular, develops cooperation with Czech organizations Czech Development Agency and Association for International Affairs. The project between the Faculty of Pedagogy and Masaryk University on inclusive education “Towards Inclusion” continues. The goal of this project is to exchange experience between Ukrainian and Czech experts in the field of inclusive education, to deepen knowledge in this field and to train specialists in this field who are able to prepare a new generation of Ukrainians. Representatives of the Department of Special Pedagogy of Masaryk University carried out a series of open lectures for teachers and students of the Faculty of Pedagogy, aimed at transferring the experience of Czech teachers in inclusive education and directing Ukrainian delegates to more detailed solution of the problem.

Cooperation with Czech universities and the Czech Development Agency and Association for International Affairs opens up new opportunities for the university to develop and work out educational potential.

AMO is a non-governmental non-profit organization that was created in Prague in 1997. AMO’s mission is to support international understanding through a wide variety of educational, scientific and transformative cooperation activities. The AMO has established itself as a leading Czech independent organization in the field of international relations and foreign policy due to its activities in the Czech Republic and abroad, as well as its long tradition.

AMO:

  • prepares and publishes briefings, scientific and policy documents
  • organizes international conferences, expert seminars, round tables, public debates
  • organizes educational projects
  • presents critical assessments and comments on current events in the local and international press
  • creates living conditions for the development of a new generation of experts
  • supports interest in international relations among the general public
  • cooperates with local and international like-minded organizations

Today AMO is a unique open platform where scientists, businessmen, politicians, diplomats, media and NGOs can cooperate in an open and impartial environment.

The Faculty of Philology cooperates with the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen.Cooperation consists in the realisation of the bilateral program on academic mobility of students, which was attended by 20 Ukrainian and 2 Czech students in 2018.
